A legal luminary , Aare Afe Babalola , the Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka and the former Attorney General and Minister of Justice , Chief Akin Olujimi are among eminent Nigerians expected in Ibadan , as a mark of honour to a literary icon, Professor Mary T. David.
The renowned writer , a Professor of English , formerly of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ondo campus , would be unveiling a book – Wole Soyinka – A Quest For Renewal , A Critical Appraisal of the Works of Nobel Laureate , Professor Wole Soyinka .
Other dignitaries expected at the epoch event are the Group Managing Director, Odua Investment Company, Mr. Adewale Raji , Founder Lead City University, Professor Jide Owoeye, Mallam Yusuf Ali SAN, Chairman, Chartered Institute of Arbitrators , Ibadan chapter, Prince Lateef Fagbemi SAN , Head , West African Examination Council ( WAEC), Lagos, and Mr. Olutise Adenipekun.
Also , expected at the book presentation are Chief Adeniyi Akintola SAN, Mr. Olu Daramola , the Managing Director , Zartech Nigeria Limited, Mr. Wadji Zard , Mr. Roland Otaru SAN, Mr. Tunde Aiku SAN, Chairman, Tuns Farms , Alhaji Tunde Badmus , Chief Hakeem Afolabi SAN, and Alhaji Lasun Sanusi SAN amongst others .
The event , which will hold at the Jogor Event centre , Liberty Road , Ibadan on Wednesday 12 February, under the chairmanship of Dipo Fatokun will feature a public lecture to be delivered by Professor Jide Ajidahun , of the English Department, Adekunle Ajasin University , Akungba -Akoko, Ondo state.
The book, Wole Soyinka – A Quest for Renewal, is one of the critical studies published in recent time on Professor Wole Soyinka’s works by the author , informed by her wide knowledge of comparative literature.
