APC Dares Legal Questions, Sends Committee To Conduct Congresses In Oyo

 

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo state is going on with the process to elect its new leaders commencing from the Ward level, on Saturday.
The party had sent the committee to conduct the election in Oyo state.
The chairman of the delegate, Alhaji Gambo Lawal who led the delegate to a press conference in Oke-Ado area of Ibadan told journalists that the Congresses would hold as scheduled.
Oyoecho reports that the question raised was based on the legality of its Caretaker/Extraordinary National Convention Planning Committee has been called to question following Wednesday’s split judgment at the Supreme Court, which gave victory to the Ondo State Governor, Rotimi Akeredolu.
The pronouncement by three of the seven Supreme Court justices against the competence of the committee led by the Yobe State Governor, Mai Mala Buni, sparked a frenzy among party stakeholders with some members calling on the governor to step aside in order to “save the party” from a possible big fall.
Other members of the committee are; Hon. Friday Sanni, Hon. Daibu Gambari, Hon. Isah Mohammed, Hon. Akintunde Adeboye, Hon. Orunna Jacob, Hon. Adams Isah, and Hon. Ephraihm Bonbon.
