A popular skit maker, Maruf Abdullahi, also known as Trinity Guy has been remanded in Agodi correctional facility over an alleged sexual exploitation of a 10-year-old girl.
Oyo Echo reports that a Family Court sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan, on Monday gave the order which remands him from Monday, June 26 until Tuesday, July 11 when the case would come up for mention.
Also arraigned and remanded were the duo of Isiaka Ahmed, 40, and his wife, Rofiat, 29, who are parents of the minor.
The parents are facing a two-count charges of conspiracy and sexual abuse and exploitation which was masterminded by Trinity Guy.
The Magistrate, P.O. Adetuyibi did not take the defendants’ plea for want of jurisdiction, saying the case file had been filed and duplicated at the state Ministry of Justice, Ibadan.
The Prosecution Counsel, Insp. Oluwakemi Arowosaye, had told the court that the three defendants conspired together to sexually abuse the girl.
Arowosaye said that “Trinity”, on Dec. 17, 2022, sexually abused and exploited the girl at Kuolaa area of Ibadan.
“Abdullahi was asking the victim the colour of his penis, recording the scene and posting it on social media,” she said.
According to her, the offences are contrary to Section 35 (1) and punishable under Section 35 (2) of Oyo State Child Right’s Law, 2006.
Arowosaye said that the offences also contravened Section 516 of the Criminal Code Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
There are insinuations that if the skit maker is found guilty of the offence, he is liable to 15 years imprisonment under the Child Right’s Law, 2006.
Meanwhile, the embattled skit maker, Abdullahi Adisa, had explained why he featured a minor in one of his skits explaining that he had an agreement with the minor’s parent before shooting the skit.
The police had earlier corroborated this in a statement which partly reads; “In addition, the Skit Maker during the course of the interview provided shocking revelations about the involvement of the minor’s parents before, during, and after the production.
“He particularly emphasised that the consent of both parents was sought before uploading the skit on the internet
“Consequent on the above, Isiaka Ahmed ‘m’ 40yrs’ and his Wife Rofiat ’29yrs’, both biological parents of the minor are presently being quizzed by the Gender/Juvenile Related Offences Desk of the SCID alongside Trinity.”
