Ajimobi’s Son To Contest Assembly, Pleads For Support

Son of the immediate past Governor of Oyo State, Idris Abiola-Ajimobi on Tuesday declared his intention to run for the seat of Ibadan Southwest constituency in the state House of Assembly on the platform of All Progressive Congress (APC).
Ajimobi made the declaration today while meeting with the party leaders in his Constituency at the ALGON house, Ring-Road Ibadan.
While speaking at the Event, Idris Ajimobi said; “Today is a very historical day for me, my family and the people of Ibadan Southwest Constituency II.
“It has always been my childhood dream to serve humanity and presenting myself to serve the good people of Ibadan Southwest constituency II will avail me the opportunity to achieve this dream.
“I have come before you as your son, to plead for your support and prayers as I cannot do this alone.”
“I know a lot of us here knows my father and the unflinching legacy he left behind (May his soul rest in perfect peace), and like his father before him (My grandfather Alhaji Ganiu Ajimobi) who also served the good people of Ibadan South West Constituency II during Chief Awolowo Regime, we shouldn’t let this legacy die and I’ll like to build on his Legacy while charting a course of my own to unite our people, bring the dividends of democracy close to our people.
“On this note I announce today that I’ll be throwing my heart in the ring to contest for the membership of the Oyo State House of Assembly as your representative in Ibadan South West Constituency II.”
