Lawmaker Hopeful, Abayomi Begins Reconstruction of Murdered Barakat Bello Parent’s House
A lawmaker hopeful, Abayomi Fagbenro, through his None Governmental Organisation (NGO), Hope Also Need Help Foundation (HANHF) has commenced reconstruction and completion of the family house of an 18-year-old, Baraka Bello, an 100 level student of Awolowo Obafemi University of Agriculture IAR&T, Odo-ona, Ibadan.
Barakat who was raped and killed by unknown ritualists on June 1st, 2020 was living with her parents in an uncomplicated building near in Akinyele area of Ibadan, before her untimely death.
Mother of the deceased, Kafayat Bello, who lammented the death of her daughter, insisted that God would expose the killers of her daughter.
She further said the killers of her daughter were able to gain access to the room where Barakat was sleeping because there was no window and doors in the house.
She said: “Had it been we have financial means to complete the house, maybe Barraka wouldn’t have been killed. There was no money to put the house in place. For instance: windows, corridor doors, and entrance are widely opened though covered with Nylon.
“Well, it pleases God on His decisions towards Men on earth, i have left everything in Gods Hand but i want Government and everyone God has shown mercy to help me in whatever way they could. I have accepted my fate,” she said.
Worried over the incident and terrible condition of the family, the chairman of HANHF who visited the troubled family, consoled the parents for the unfortunate incident.
Abayomi ordered instant completion of the uncompleted building, saying the family needs support and comfort at this critical time.
He therefore urged Government and members of the public to tackle issue related to rape and consider it as a gross sin against God and humanity, which may attract death penalty.
He also called on government at all levels to be more effective in delivery of dividends of Democracy to all and sundry, especially the Rural Urban dwellers.
