Wale Ajani Lobbies NCC Job Slots For Oyo  Indigenes 

The Oyo state Director-general, Abuja and Lagos Liaison Office, Wale Ajani yesterday visited the Chairman of Nigeria Communications Commission, Dr Deolu Akande in a bid to foster mutually beneficial relationship between Oyo state and the Commission.
The meeting according to Ajani also aims to explore ways of facilitating employment Opportunities for Oyo state Indigenes at the commission anytime there is an opening for federal government recruitment.
Ajani while speaking with westernmirror news yesterday (Wednesday) over the development said Governor Seyi Makinde has done so much in terms of employment at the state level and needed to be complemented at the federal level.
It was gathered that Ajani who recently took over from his predecessor, Olayemi Busari, has continued to seek ways of exploring opportunities that will be mutually beneficial to both Oyo state and federal government through ministries, departments, and agencies (MDAs).
Some of the federal government MDAs Ajani recently visited include the ministry of Foreign Affairs, Federal Character Commission, Nigeria Communication Commission and other government parastatals.
Speaking on the discussions between himself and the NCC boss, Ajani said the talks centered around collaborative partnership and ways to explore Information Communication Technology, ICT, to boost digital economy at both state and federal level.
“We discussed serious partnership opportunities with Oyo state government in the area of iCT and digital economy.” Ajani said.
Ajani explained that Governor Makinde as part of his commitment to boosting digital economy in the state has invested heavily on provision of ICT infrastructures in Ibadan metropolis.
He said the Close Circuit Television camera (CCTV) installed at strategic locations in Ibadan has not only help security operatives in fighting crime but has also created confidence in the minds of investors of a safe and secured business environment in the state.
Speaking further, he said the entire state government Secretariat has been transformed from analogue to digital compliant ICT work environment which has immensely improved on workers productivity as well as the state internally generated revenue (IGR).
In his words, “the Governor has continued to beat all of our imaginations and surpass expectations because of his administrative acumen. He has successfully diversified Oyo state economy from merely waiting for federal allocation to meet its financial obligations on recurrent and capital project to a revenue spinning economy.
“ICT is no doubt the new oil yet to be fully explored and like they say on the street, ‘Oyo no go carry last’, that’s why we are doing everything to complement the efforts of His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde to explore ways to further boost our digital economy, create employment opportunities for our people and create revolving wealth in the system.”
Ajani, who expressed excitement after his meeting with the NCC boss said the outcome of his discussion with Dr Akande will birth something great for the people of the state because an agreement has been reached for a closer working relationship geared towards mutually beneficial end especially in the areas of human capital development and employment generation.
“Dr Akande has promised to work closely with us to achieve greater Oyo state under the leadership of Governor Seyi Makinde. We are hoping to also get more Oyo indigenes into the Organisation as times go on because it was part of our discussion.” Ajani added.
